Bradley I. Raffle, Chief Executive Officer

Prior to founding Conservation Capital in 2006 with Mr. Ron Sandberg, Brad Raffle was the lead partner within the Houston Environmental Law Section of Baker Botts L.L.P. During the 1980s, Mr. Raffle managed the Environmental Law Division of Conoco, Inc. in Houston, Texas. He went into private law practice in 1990 and joined Baker Botts in 1997.

As an attorney, Mr. Raffle specialized in land use, wetlands and environmental regulatory matters for a wide array of clients, including oil and gas companies, timber companies, real estate developers and individual landowners. He has handled numerous land conservation transactions designed to enable landowners to reduce their tax burden, sell mitigation credits and resolve legal obligations. Mr. Raffle is a nationally recognized expert in environmental law, having been named among the top lawyers in the United States by several leading publications.

Mr. Raffle has been active in a wide array of civic affairs in Greater Houston. In the late 1980s, he was elected to a four year term on the Board of Trustees of the Houston Independent School District (HISD). Mr. Raffle currently serves on numerous local charitable boards, including the Advisory Board of the Houston Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. In May 2005, he was elected Board Chairman of Houston Wilderness, a non-profit whose mission is to coordinate conservation activities among the region’s corporate community, key governmental agencies, and area conservation organizations.

Mr. Raffle received his B.S. Degree from the University of Florida in 1971 and his M.S. Degree in environmental engineering sciences from the University of Florida in 1972. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the University of Miami in 1976.
