Ron Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer
Ron Sandberg’s career has focused on contaminated properties for over twenty years. Prior to joining Conservation Capital, Mr. Sandberg was the Brownfields Program Manager for the City of Houston in the Mayor's Office. Under his leadership, twenty-four new sites were enrolled in the Brownfields Redevelopment Program, maintaining Houston’s premier status as a “Showcase Community” in the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency’s national brownfields program.
Prior to his time in public service, Mr. Sandberg was an in-house attorney for over thirty years in three major corporations – Gulf Oil, Conoco, and Cooper Industries. During the last twenty of those years, his legal practice was entirely devoted to environmental matters. For all of his eighteen years at Cooper, Mr. Sandberg was the company’s chief in-house environmental attorney. He represented Cooper worldwide in environmental matters of all types. Throughout his career Mr. Sandberg has been involved in over 125 Superfund sites and the conversion of over one dozen brownfields to green space.
Mr. Sandberg earned a B.A. Degree, Cum Laude, from Southwestern University (Georgetown, Texas) in 1969, a Master of Religion Degree from The Claremont School of Theology (Claremont, California) in 1971, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from The University of Texas School of Law in 1974.
